This is the part where I tell you about how awesome I am.
I am a journalist by trade with a tendency for exploring the world. I have a Bachelor's degree in English & Cultural Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in New Media Journalism, and I am a certified TEFL teacher.
I have volunteered in low income neighbourhoods in Peru, bungee jumped in a canyon in Whistler, B.C., run my fingertips along the stones of the ancient Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia and listened in awe to the silence of the Australian desert at night.
When I'm not travelling, I spend my days hiking in the woods with my dog or riding my semi-retired horse, Drayko, bareback with a halter and lead rope.
I like to take risks, observe details and solve problems in my everyday and working life just like I do when I am travelling. I think that the practical skills learned while travelling are invaluable in any professional context. You learn how to have patience, communicate effectively, use common sense, have a proactive attitude in the face of challenges and be flexible and adaptable when faced with unexpected obstacles or changes.
